A jolly fine trip to France for some of the Club Nova guys was had at the weekend - Thanks to Jon (LotusNova) and Fabienne for hosting an excellent weekend.

Two Nova's made the trip - Mike and Elaine in 'Purple Passion' and Harry in his White Nova with 'gizmo' (trailer) attached.

See below for some pictures of the event - not many as my camera work was seriously impaired by the 'rocket fuel' that Jon forced me to drink.

Two roadworthy Novas and Jon's work in progress re-styling, Lotus based one.

Jon's farmer/neighbour does the carving, with Harry's Nova providing 'Son et Lumiere' in the background with his new Laser Show add-on..

Looks like you all had a fine time, Mick; thanks for sharing. Will your red Nova be making the trip next year then?

It's certainly my intention to be part of the convoy that causes a large part of central France to fall off their bikes and drop their onions as we cruise :cool1: from Dieppe to Jon's - if he wants us back again.

Hey Mick,

Glad everyone enjoyed it :cool1:

It's taken me a month to get back into work after the holidays (what a shock that was)

Next year will be the weekend of August 30-31, so stick it in yer diary.

Jon.

Wine vs. Beer. How could you EVER confuse the two?!?!

I've just come back from 4 days at the Oktoberfest in Munich and I know what I prefer.   Might add I met a load of yanks over there that had just gone for the fest as well and they certainly liked the beer. You can't drink 12 litres of wine in one sitting now can you     yehaaaaaa!
:sorry: :sorry: :offtopic:

Wine vs beer???? What's that all about? Can't a man have two loves?

I'm such a Dummkopf!

Disputed Alsace region in France :D

Actually, it highlights a particular problem that I have with languages; I only have a smattering of French and German, but when struggling to find a suitable French word, a German word invariably surfaces, and a great French word pops up when I want a German one!

Its a funny old monde, nicht var?

Folks,

Let's be serious - only two things matter :D

a) Does it contain Ethanol?
b) Is it in large quantities?

You don't need the language to ask (& understand the reply) to these two questions. A bit of sign language & improvised miming works a treat (so far I've tried it in most of Western Europe, Russia, Morocco, & Peru - & it hasn't failed me yet)

:nonono:

I don't think the 'rocket-fuel' at Jon's was related to either beer or wine, Ethanol with a Pear floated in it I think. That's what gave me a headache.
If anyone were to drink 12 litres of the stuff their Nova would be in the small ads - just after their obituary.

Melted the plastic cup too

The technical term for the local brew (as everyone in these parts knows) is "Poire William".

and yes, it's basically pure ethanol with a pear floating in it. :notworthy:

Just thought I'd freshen up the ol' memories of a great weekend down at Jons.
Some are off a phone and most were rocket fuelled. The most evil concoction was a  Poire William champagne shandy.
Yes! I get knocked down, There's a song in there somewhere :whistling:
