Looks like a Mk1 to me but there are far more knowlegeable people on here. The bonnet is a Mk1 and the roof line looks low (Mk2's had a slightly different height to the front for extra headroom).
Have a look inside the bonnet area on the off side of the bulkhead near where the brake reservoir is usually sited and see if there is any words in the actual gel coat of the glassfibre, if there is then post what it says and that will give more info.

From the photo I'd say BBC was spot-on bonnet and roof line certainly look Mk1, and as he says, if it's an Oakes version, there should be the imprint of a row of dymo tape (!) on the driver's side bulkhead at the front (opposite side to the brake reservoir on mine) It'd be interesting to know what number is on the body if there is one, as mine shares '125' with two others that I know of!

It may be one of the 'rip-off' models then - Ant's looks like a Mk1 but doesn't have any serial numbers (or properly made hinges) either, I think Lauren or Phill can list out some of the other manufacturers......

There were a couple of "unofficial" manufacturers in the early 1980's. One was called Crestwick Ltd., the other was set up by a guy called Don Law in Swindon. Both were set up using moulds taken from existing MK1 cars. Very few cars (if any) were actually produced by these manufacturers - but maybe you have one of these? I would try removing some paint in an obscure area (e.g inside the boot) to determine the colour of the original gelcoat. If white this may indicate your car originated in this way. More detailed photographs would certainly be helpful.

Really just shows that it's a 'Mk1 type' car, Cain - if it never had the serial number in the front, it wasn't an 'ADD' Nova, so it probably was one of the copies - either way, I think it's the best looking shape - just not much good for people much taller than me! :whistling:
