This is one of my favourite original designs. It was criticised for being a bit X-1/9, but I reckon it's better than that, from the Rover SD1-esque scallop down the sides to the flip down headlight covers this thing deserved more success. Hot Car built one as a project with some amazing Falcon wheels, I have at least one part of the build story somewhere.

Does anyone have any more pics or info on survivors? The last one I saw was a sad bundle of bits and a black bodyshell on Ebay, in black (wonder if it was this car?)

The +2 that came after it was just so ugly and compromised, I prefer to imagine them all like this;

This always seemed like the poor mans TVR - lots of good things, spoilt for me by that awful quarterlight window - and the door when they were on.

You can clearly see the influence of Neville Trickett's earlier cars in this. The front quarterlights dipping deep into the sides and the stepover sills where hallmarks of his earlier Saluki (still visible on the Charger, but I don't believe Trickett had anything to do with Embeasea/MBC), and to a lesser extent, the S160.

Of course, Trickett has styled some howlers in his time - Opus HRF, anyone?

Wow, looks like one cropped up in Iceland of all places;

Finally got hold of a copy of the Hot Car magazine with the finished build article (3 of 3, April 82, now need to track down Feb for the first part). I LOVE this car especially the groovy Falcon wheels, neither pretty nor dramatic it just has a "jump in and drive" look, like a beach buggy. The DVLA site have it's tax expiring years ago, wonder if it survives in a shed anywhere?
