Now this looks a nicely built Marlin, but its got a few things to be done to get through IVA, but I love the way about two thirds into the ad it says

Other main point - it doesnt start at the moment!! Seems to be a problem with either ECU or immobilser or both. Then it says it might be loose wire (nice and cheap and easy possibly) or.........might need a new set of immobiliser and ECU put in!!!

bit of a gamble hey?

That'd be this one:

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marlin-Sportster- ... 286.c0.m14 (http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/Marlin-Sportster-Kit-Car-nearly-passed-IVA_W0QQitemZ160351857137QQcmdZViewItemQQptZAutomo biles_UK?hash=item2555b729f1&_trksid=p3286.c0.m14)

Pretty if you like that sort of thing, but our embarassingly ever increasing fleet of cars cost well less than that And all of them start!......

It's the old problem with kit cars. The builder adds up what they've spent and assume that's what it's worth.

Without the IVA it's worth more as parts.

Ah, but he's got the desirable (at least here) five lug Cosmic wheels. Those alone in the States can command up to $5K for a set!

Nice looking car, but with those problems, I think he's asking a tad too much. You could buy a new car with that money.

I agree. Its the later model with the fake Alfa 8C slotted radiator surround. Not sure about the bling alloys and low profile tyres, but a lot of people like that old/new thing. A set of knock-on wires would give it a better period look IMHO.

Amazingly, vintage-style cars like this can still get through IVA, which speaks volumes about our daft vehicle legislation :cursing:
