MOT run out and needs engine work, but a correctly registered and well sorted looking car..... (limited luggage carrying potential due to ICE installation, but you could probably hear the music over the engine!

It's got a Mk4 dash and rear panel, together with an 'eye-brow' rear louvre. Can't tell if thats a '2 or a '4 canopy, but probably a 4 if all the added parts came from the same source. Shame about the seats!

Having looked again and seen that it has a Mk4 front moulding as well - I'm going to revise the previous and say that this is a MK4 car...... the '1971' bit is all to do with the donor vehicle and its registration. Soooooo it's one of the eleven to fourteen cars that Sam Cobley built, there can't be that many more to find now!

I was a bit confused too - if the car is a Sam Cobley Mk4, and it certainly seems to be judging by the photographs, then the seller cannot have owned it for 22 years, as he claims, unless it was just the donor Beetle he's talking about!

TFS were still distributors of the Nova in the later '80s, with Graham Slayford taking over in 1989, and Sam must have started Nova Developments around about 1993...?

I seem to remember seeing that awful spider graphic before somewhere. Still, as a certain plasticene character would say "its amazing what a lick of paint can do" :D

Do you know, I hadn't spotted that was a spider, just took it as a shadow on the photo and ignored it..... :blushing: I suppose it matches the speaker shrouds.......

Hydraulic lifters dont hold the roof up for long, hence the stick, don't like the green it's painted, nor the interior, other than that if its a runner not too bad,

Not that keen on the colour either, price has run over £1K and reserve not met........

Would say from what I can see is that all the panels seem to follow mine, including the cav rear lights. the dash is a Mk4 extended to the tunnel, but all that space he has lost unless there is a hatch behind the seats.
Still colour is a bit garish but not chopped about.

Just got to £2,000 and got above the reserve with 23 minutes to go...... No MOT, I wonder if the buyer will back out after the auction? (regularly seems to happen with Novas!)
