Chanced upon this well finished Nova among pics of a Swiss hillclimb event.

Also this Gulf Nova seems to have been doing more posing, driving around with the lid up again;

I really like the square headlights and indicator strip on the first one.

Mee too. :thumbup:

Judging by the size, I'd guess they're the Alpha ones but I'm not certain.

Its A-L-F-A, but yes, they appear to be the ones used on the SZ and Aston Virage/Zagato. On the SZ's I have seen one pair of lamps use an ellipsoid projector beam under a square cover glass - they look like the inner units on this car. Its amazing how large they look in comparison to the Nova - on both the SZ and the Aston they appear tiny. Just goes to show how diminutively proportioned our cars are!

Although the lights are different, I know this car. Some pictures appeared in a Club Nova newsletter about 15 years ago. Swiss, Porsche flat-6 power... the name was Florient Wagniers I think (apologies if he is reading this, my menory isn't what it used to be :bye2: ). Very tidy machine.

I do like the Gulf Nova, but I would have to be very thick-skinned to drive around in a Gulf-liveried car with absolutely no sporting credentials whatsoever :whistling:

Looks like the Gulf guy has been getting noticed all over. The guy on Flickr whose photostream I found these in was quite derogatory...HOWEVER it was contained withing hundreds of shots of SLR Mercs, Ferraris, Lambos etc soeven he can't deny the Nova punches well over it's weight style-wise.

I'm not so sure they are of the ALFA lights as I thought they were more rectangular than square or is it just the angle the photo has been taken that makes the Nova lights look square.

The Alfa lights are definately square, but I still can't get over the disparity in apparent size - on the SZ the lights appear tiny, on the Nova they seem proportionately much larger, although if you parked a Nova next to an SZ the latter would be larger in most respects (apart from overall length, where the Nova wins out).

Hmm - swing-axles, maybe?

The white Sterling's mirrors are most likely off a Honda CBR or Hurricane. Warren and I were discussing this on the US forum.

Hi Folks, are you sure about the Honda CBR or Hurricane thing ?

A Google images search for both did not turn up something similar for me, perhaps a CBR or Hurricane from a particular year ?

I would love to find out what those mirrors are too - they really suit the Nova.

Best regards

Steve

Well.... if they are off a Hurricane, it would be from the 87 or 88 bikes. Having owned one, they look dead on. But... I could be wrong, it's been known to happen.
