Would i need an iva if i was to get a shell then put it on a vw bug chassis?? obviously i would have to do more but you see what i mean lol

No as you would retain the volkswagon plate and reg number, so you would need a chassis with a V5c ( log book ), pre jan 73 is best then you pay no road tax.

At the moment it's not a problem, though altering the chassis is a no-no and that can seemingly even involve dropping the pans - best get on and get it built and registered as soon as possible, as it's unlikely that the regulations will get any kinder and supportive of our interests in the future...
