Not many of these to the pound, and looks a lot more usable than your average buggy....

Had one of those. Fun little buggy while it lasted, but the typical abbreviated driving position was hard on my knees.

The "sale" photo when it went to eBay at the end of the summer last year. Note the exhaust outlets.

Everything you could possibly have for the SR series, also included.

Now, for my minor rant on this guys sale: Meyers never sold to Karma. Karma bought the molds after BF Meyers went bankrupt. If he has over 1000 hours in "restoring" this car... he's an absolute git. Other than filling holes and paint, there's not much else to these cars. Likewise with the doors. Karma had the exterior hinges; Meyers had hidden hinges activated by a huge spring off the frame. If it took him a week to figure out how to make a pneumatic lift arm work the door and a stock Beetle hook latch for the catch...no comment. His exhaust... I wonder where he got the idea...
His production figures are about right. Bruce confirmed with me that about 200 were made by BF Meyers. The square headlight hood was an option by both Meyers and Karma and the later manufacturers, so nothing rare there. His asking price... ridiculous. Yes, rare in the UK, but seriously? 12K? He has none of the pieces that came with the car - the windows, targa top, canvas... nothing. I could only hope to reach that price, and in the end wound up with less than a third of what I had into it - $5K. Rant almost over... I just get really peeved with guys thinking their kit is the absolute pinnacle of perfection and rarity when there are entire clubs devoted to those cars and the folks there knowing better. :coat:

Sorry... must have been a bad day here for me to go off like that!

Yes it s very pretty but certainly not £12k. Of course he's made the usual mistake of figuring out how much money he's put into the car, and then thinking thats what its now worth. My dog has cost me about £5,000 a year for the last 12 years but I doubt I could sell her for £60k now!!
It is rare, very rare, but so is a Panache, why so is an Avante!!

As you say, virtually unheard of in the UK or Europe does not justify the price, especially if it doesn't come with the matching removable hardtop panel and sidescreens. Meyers was trying to move the buggy into the "sensible everyday transport" category with this neat little machine, and it can get a bit wet in the UK, even in the Summer!

Interesting find, for sure. I wonder if anyone out there wants it badly enough to part with £12k for it...

Side exit exhausts are manafactured I have seen them somewhere on the net.

Could be. I built mine. Trumpets are from a '70's era Harley Davidson, backed up by a set of shorty Flowmasters. With an 1835 mill, it really sounded good!

The exhaust looks like a set-up I just ordered for my Shalako Street Buggy - their called the "G Down" exhaust:
