One of the Alfasud enthusiasts on Alfaowner noticed the similarity to the Green Machine...

Notice the price! Not bad for a Mk1 project car with an intact windscreen and factory slot mags. Dorsal intake is interesting, also looks like a manual canopy with a rectangular cut-out for a paddle-style door handle? Or ventilation maybe?

Yeah - looks like an Austin Allegro handle should go there.

There was some horrid supercar on Top Gear recently which had a dirty great dorsal air intake on it too.

I know what your friend meant of course, but actually the side repeater placement does look specifically a little like Green Machine (are those Pontiac repeaters ? - they look great, I want some !)

The side repeaters were bought from Europa Spares many years ago. Not available now, they were advertised as "long, thin indicators" but had 5W capless bulbs and built-in retro-reflectors so were clearly designed as side markers. The nearest equivalent I have seen is, as you say, from a 1990s Pontiac. The lenses are SAE marked as well, which stacks up!

Ah well - nearly right then

They do look good - one of the early advertised Novas (the one with the flashy paint work and now very passe woman in a bikini on the bonnet....) had long thin ones like yours and I admired them at the time (honest! - I had an obsession with Novas for decades before I bought my heap).

As it happens I will probably not be stealing your look though - I have my eye on some blue repeaters from here:

http://www.ultimatestyling.com/category ... repeaters/ (http://www.ultimatestyling.com/categorylist/performance-lighting-side-repeaters/)

... which will match the blue paint and hopefully disappear a little.

They were found after I failed to find something similar to yours :violin:

Thanks as always

You might want to have a look at the stalls at Stoneleigh, some of them sell all sorts of wierd and wonderful lights including boxes of side repeaters, switches and stuff. Very cheap too.

Oh I will be 'stall searching' at the earliest opportunity - although I actually can't make Stoneleigh (just remembered - must let Mick know), I have quite a specific list of stuff to try and find.

.... And a new list of things I want to look at closely on other people's Novas/Eagles/Avantes.
