These were sold on Ebay a while back, but the new owner obviously hadn't reckoned on how much work would be involved - both have intact glass and one has been on the road - the other never has.....

I saw those and asked the vendor a couple of Qs:
Reg for the green one (described as black with DVLA) is Q31 RDS and has a tax disc for 1999 in the screen.
It is described as a 'Ford' on the V5C.
I was thinking about trying to get these - but as a newbie, I've been reading forum postings on the increasing difficulties of correct registration for 'historic' kit cars and the unhelpful log book descripion is a worry.

Hi Doc - its not as bad as you might think; if the green car is on a Q plate then it has already been through the road registration process, and is therefore not required to be submitted for IVA. A normal MoT is all that would be required to get this car back on the road, even if it has been lying dormant for some time (pre-'97 you don't even need to SORN it). As long as DVLA have not re-assigned the registration as a result of a scrapped/permanently exported notice, you should be good to go.

The unhelpful description is down to the original Q plate process, which allowed the builder to describe the car in any way they liked. This should not present any particular problems - however, it would probably be a good idea to get the colour sorted with DVLA before taking it out on the road!

The red car is unlikely to pass IVA, and as it is unregistered, that virtually condemns it to being a spares car.

Good luck if you do decide to go for it!
