Hi there and welcome to the forum and keep it coming, always pleased to hear what is going on abroad, sorry to hear about your bad deal on Ebay but at least you are protected and should get your cash back. Hope you get a Nova soon.

Post the details on here and I'm sure someone will have a red face at least.

Welcome to the forum. Good luck with your decision to attempt ownership of a Nova. Although, it is sad to see them leave UK, I would rather see a working Nova abroad than another one end as scrap.

Ebay link too old to be active, but if I understand what you're saying, you paid direct into his bank account - in which case the money is gone and nothing to be done about it - I made the same mistake 10 years ago in my very early Ebay days trying to buy a Makita sliding chop-saw from someone in Cheltenham, who turned out to be a crook from Manchester who caught out loads of people. Chalk it up to experience, and stick to Paypal or cash on collection and go with at least one (large!) friend.

If you send the money via bank transfer it will be in my account straight alway. Or you could try send the money as a 'gift' of PayPal and it should come through straight away

Hi. I have received the PayPal payment but it is on hold until the 14th of June so you will have to arrange collection after this date. Or I can refund the money and you can pay via bank transfer so I get the funds instantly. I have lots of other people wanting the car and have the cash waiting and collect. Let me know what you would like to do.

Matt

If I give you my IBAN number can't you just bank transfer the money. Be a lot easier and quicker and I won't loose money because of the eBay fees.

Right, I'm unsure whether you have had the refund or not, the whole correspondence sounds a bit dodgy, if you bought the car through Ebay you shouldn't be sending money through Paypal as a gift, (losing all buyer protection) and definitely not as a bank transfer unless you REALLY know and trust the seller.

As for the car, you are probably better off not having that one, as it's a peculiar one-off - they're difficult enough in standard form without having someone's random interesting major modifications to deal with as well.......

There are many Novas and Eagles on the continent and even Canada and from Finland to Spain (2 including mine) plus Belgium, France, Poland, Russia, Germany, Sweden, Denmark, Norway and Czech Republic to my knowledge.

Hope you get one soon.

Normal Ebay practice is about 200 deposit by PayPal and cash on collection, once you have paid the deposit the car is contractual yours but full ownership isn't complete until full payment is made.

Sometimes a letter from a lawyer asking for a full refund OR ELSE, does the trick.
