Good turnout at Stonleigh today (Sunday) with 7 Novas in attendance
Thanks to all for making me feel welcome at the Club stand,
great food, snacks and a cuppa was much appreciated!

My pics were a bit of an afterthought, perhaps someone can add some better ones:

Pics were an after thought for me too, only got a couple. Met a few new faces which is always good.
Then a bit of last minute tinkering on my car with the majority of the club members, great day as a whole.
We were lucky with the weather!

70 of course Dave
It was a million times better than the drive there. The support vehicle said they had a hard time keeping up a couple of times.

It had more to give, drive was fantastic. (Would have been quicker if Becky wasn't there)
Stopped at lights and when I moved off it did a couple of pop and bangs but then it cleared and was great the rest of the journey.

I purposely hammered it all the way back thinking it hasn't had it for a long time and it will clean the crap out. Massive smile when I closed it up for the night,

Thankyou to Dave, Martin, Alex, Mick, Ces and all the others for your help yesterday, best part about the show is the combined knowledge and willingness of people to dive in and help out to get everything fixed, I appreciate that immensely.

We too had a great day yesterday. what else could we expect in the company of other nova`s and enthusiasts. just a little disappointed that all the hard work and time Ray and i spent over the last few weeks to try and get Ray`s blue nova ready didn`t pay off.
we did manage to get all those job`s done but not enough time to give her a good road test before the show. we actually was finishing her off early sunday morning but ran out of time before we had to leave. it wasn`t worth the risk of driving the 240 mile round trip in an untested car.we were so close to getting her done though it was a hard decision to say we had leave her at home.
having said that we still had a great day. Ray`s red nova performed impeccably there and back and we enjoyed the attention of other drivers pulling alongside us on the motorway taking pic`s and giving the thumbs up. you can never get fed up with that .
big thank you to all the members who put the extra hard work and time in to make it an enjoyable weekend for all who attended.
see you at castle combe if your coming.

Gary & Ray.

I dropped by on Sunday. It was good to see the Nova's all lined up & good to chat to a few of you about your car's.

I always come away with some ideas to try.

Thanks to those who put in so much effort with the pitch.

Great work all round.

That looks like a great line up, most I saw last year of course but I still wish I could have been there but just not possible. You never know, next year I might even be there in my car.:drive::please:

Glad you got some of your performance back. Personally I seemed to find myself on a 'closed private road' that looked like the M5 but wasn't (constable) and my GPS was showing 91mph when I floored it for a quick spurt.
Now home, nice to sit in a proper chair.

Great to see everyone again and some new faces.

We're safely back, 5 and a half hours despite the rain for the first 3 or so, (So glad I set up a reliable intermittent wipe all those years back....) set-off time or poor weather meant we avoided all the normal snarl-ups, though traffic coming the other way was close to stationary from Cribbs Causeway to Wellington (never seen it quite that bad!)

Starter solenoid again refused to play ball after fuelling at Launceston, but of course started working perfectly just after I got home...... Retrodubs will be getting a call tomorrow to see how good the warranty is!

Photos to follow, Liz has more than me, wasn't really the weather for it and a lot less interesting cars than normal. One of the traders was telling us that the Site is up for sale again, hopefully we're not going to lose that venue too!

Another strong turn out of cars, More rain than at the worst possible times but also added to the side events.

So Lets recount some of them.
Islandman: Blew his fuse on the roof pump, while it was down, with his tools inside.

Micksrednova: Lights on when he left home, no lights when he got to stones. Plus Bushboy had a good poke around in its never regions to examine its timing.

Bobby Brown: sick nova incapable of pulling the skin of custard. Had a lot of poking & prodding, some test & a timing comparisons to micksrednova. The careful surgical removal of an unwanted regulator (now called a speed limiter) and it is now feeling much better.

Alzax3: Starter fault, the he fix (proper fix where it then didn't work) but we only found that out at home time. So the quick fix.....push push push.......dak..dak...dak..friendly wave & hope to find a fuel station on a hill!!!!!!!!

Ben: He didn't escape scot free. He arrived in a very posh camper with some of his family members. Pack up time & Ben gets bogged. After laying out a few sticks for added traction & Sue donating 20,000 miles of her clutch, he was pulled & pushed to the safety of the tarmac.

Other than wet feet I think the rest of us got away without issue.

On my trip home I had the first 30 miles in the dry with the top off But caught up with the storm. Quick services break to fit the top & the rest of the drive was wet. M1 road works was slow crawl stop start repeat. Was sitting beside the blue McLaren & two Orange Diablos in the road works.

I actually managed the 250 mile round trip on one tank of fuel. According to the trip computer I averaged 49.2 miles per hour.

Despite the rain & rubber neckers blocking you in I was greeted in Essex by a full arc rain bow.

Hope to see some of you at Castle Combe on June 25th for the Clasic, Kit & Retro show.

Wonderful friendly time again, great food, good company, lovely to see a good turnout of cars. Weird to have only 3 tents though... we had a comfy mattress of bark chippings in the copse.

Home again, raindrops still marring the reflection as we had three hours of rain and spray on the M5 and eventually glorious sunshine in Cornwall.
