I've had some time to play with this gun now and things that I liked about this heat gun are It has a stand for holding the gun in place
Since there is a return (lip) all the way around the perimeter of the seat, you could also glue felt on the back of the seat. Its very flexible and installs

I want to the seats to fit, operate (i.e. the runners), and look decent. Easier said than done. These are my seats (the white seat shown
