I dont think flocking is the way to go on seats it is not very durable and scratches very easily, it does look good on a roof lining though.

That does look compact, If you are doing joints in a very tight space on the car I can also recommend the gas solder kits that can double up as a hot air blower and they also come with the deflector...

If you cut the section off that would be inside the car does that leave you with a hollow section? If so you could fill in with polymorph once set glue it in and drill and tap it?
