Same here - height of headlight recess very different side to side, as are headlight recess dimensions, side windows and thickness of canopy sill near mirror mounts!

I have used that type of breather on my Novas and buggies - lots of options on eBay

You need a swaging tool - my understanding is that a brake pipe tool will flare but not swage.

Pretty sure John Dickens did a swaging article in Complete Kit Car some time back, a quick google...
