Question to the collective please.
The wiper wiring comes down through one of the roof tubes.
Do the holes in that tube face forwards or backwards?
Thanks
Steve
I have only put it on and thrown some bolts in to stop it falling off. When I get to work on it next I will do some adjustments to get it fully aligned.
For the moment it does a small lift one side...
It has a roof...and it goes up and down on remote control.
Even more important it has been up all night.

Even if the system goes straight on without modification we may not have time to fit it on the day. We also need a set of exhaust studs to complete the job as several of the originals were rusted...
It does allow the header to be as high as possible and still have the engine cover fit.

Would that be the wheel we are missing a spacer for....Patrick?

Is your install using a Subaru engine and if so what prompted you to go with the extra pump?

Hi
Little update.

The tester is required to verify the VIN at the start of the MOT.
If he can see it on the tunnel then fine but a plate under the bonnet would be easier.

Thanks Guys.
I could see how that would work in the top of the strut (the down section) but any air in the bottom section (Up) would sit just below the piston and not get moved hence my surprise...
Hi
Just filled the system and run the rams up and down a few times but without the roof on.
Question is, does the system bleed itself somehow?
With the rams fully up I can swing on them and...

Man at Hydra told me they did a bulk buy on the reservoirs some years ago so I expect we all have parts from that same batch.

I've just received the replacement tank I ordered and paid for yesterday.
A close inspection shows it has what is known as a 'Cold Shut' or 'Weld Line' which is where the plastic is injected into...
Nor did I on this one although I did not give it a microscopic inspection as there was no need.
Man at Hydra said the only issue they have had with these was some that went to the Arctic and did...
Went to fill the roof pump today and thought I had spilt a load of oil in doing so.
No, the reservoir is cracked. To be precise it has seven cracks.
I've not seen them before and have not dropped...
I don't know but will assume these tanks are made in the normal method.
You are familiar with the spot welding process where the two sheets to be welded are clamped between two copper electrodes...
If your car was already wired and you were just changing the engine I would use only the bare minimum of the existing wiring. As you are planning to use all the switchgear, column stalks and dash...

This sweet little beasty turned up this morning.
Works fine and holds contact closed with button held. Does a little 'double tap' when you first press then holds so should be OK.
More questions.

Patrick's car has no copper sleeve fitted.
It has the cylinder attached at the lowest/rearward mounting point at the bottom.
It has the cylinder pushrod fitted...
Thanks for the strut orientation answer.
Can anyone remember what sort of length copper tube they fitted?
If I fitted the strut (where the ram attaches) the other way up it would be the...
