I'm not an expert on carbs Phill, but it sounds like an interesting idea .... only thing that strikes me is would the inlet manifold for the 32/36 fit your 1300 heads, and would there be enough space...
Relationships that last a long time aren't easy. After the initial lust they generally require lots of patience, compromise and forgiveness, and after a while companionship becomes more important. ...
Excellent ... just let me know when you'd like to pick it up
Phill, I've been looking through your thread again ... regardless of whether or not you get to the bottom of the problem before you start your strip down, remember that I've got an engine stand that...
Thanks Jim. All very re-assuring, and I agree re MOT station. I’ve been going to the same place for years, and it only does MOTs, not repairs. They know me well and have passed my welding (thanks...
I like your idea of covering the valve Peter. If I put mine in the passenger footwell that would protect it from getting accidentally kicked. Hope the restrictions in Estepona ease soon to let you...
That's great Mike. I'll probably put it inside in the passenger footwell so that I can fit the body without disconnecting it, but it's also out of reach so that it can't be adjusted whilst driving....
It is indeed David ... thanks!
Thanks Dirk ... much appreciated!
Very helpful Lauren ... thanks!
Thanks Phill. Yes, I hope so too! It's taking longer than I planned, but apart from the superfast workers on the Forum (Dirk and Mike) I think most...
Phill,
Did you get a chance to see the engine running, or was the video taken by the seller? I was thinking that if you hadn't actually seen it running, then getting it running (by...
I've not touched my Nova since July last year. Just 'stuff' going on, some of which is now dealt with, and other things which are still ongoing.
But with the sun shining on the 1st day of...
Had to stand on my head for that one Barry! ;) ..... but I see your windscreen’s now fitted and you’re ready ... wishing you all the best for the mot. Are you exempt and going for it anyway, or...
That’s excellent Steve! Really appreciate that. Obviously happy to buy the one(s) needing the most work. Looking forward to chatting more in a few months
Alistair
Thanks Alex... if I can’t find any I’ll get back to you and see what we can sort out
Alistair
I’m ok for a dash Steve, but am looking for a couple of Mk1 dash pods ... don’t suppose you (or anyone else reading this) has got any pods they’d be willing to part with?
Alistair
Outside photos look great Mike! Thanks for sharing
Thinking ahead, and whilst very easy to do retrospectively, a removable panel in the body beneath the rear window might improve...
You’re making great progress Mike. For various reasons I’ve not made any progress for a while, but your ‘Christmas’ comment reminded me how good it felt during the 1st lockdown to get lots of...
Warm welcome back Keith!!
Glad to hear you’ve still got your Nova and looking forward to hearing how you get on with the engine, especially as the better weather’s not too far away.
Alistair
Barry,
Your car looks really well finished .... have you set up a thread in the 'Your Cars' section? Would be great to see more photos of the rest of the car ... engine, chassis, suspension, etc...
I’m afraid I have to agree....
That's great news Phill
... and you're taking the right approach by commiting to a full rebuild at a leisurely pace since your Nova's already on the road.
As for the noise, it sounds...
Interesting one. No mention of a V5, but it's on a VW chassis, has a windscreen .... and a V8 engine! :outahere:
If Mrs Bluenova was to allow me to get another Nova (which she won’t )...
Steve,
I've said it before and I'll say it again .... with this attention to detail on stuff that folk can't see as you drive her along the road ............ surely she deserves a stunning paint...
