I have used them on my screen for chips and a small crack and worked well, you can see the outline of the biggest chip, but I think that was because it was a very old chip before my ownership and potential contamination.

Even on chips done by 'car glass' on my BMW I can still see a mark.

Started on the black alcantara cloth facings, I must say it does look good, only managed to get the left side pod and under pad done so far but quite easy to work with apart from not as stretchy as they say, so, just centre, (dead easy slab), front of headlining, right pod and under pad and doors to do, not much then,

It's driving me NUTS been to the 'shed' several times in the past two weeks but always to do something for someone else. yesterday it was saving a customer over 300€ for a Ford Focus EGR, the little cross bar inside that is driven by the electric motor broke and jammed in the rotating part affecting the performance, no internal parts made so I had to make one, very fiddly turning a 5mm Allen bolt into the spindle onto which fit the two end bearings and a clip, only 4mm thick by 27mm long. Now, wasn't that interesting?

But I did finish ONE SIDE of the dash inc, vent and tweeter.

Going slightly nuts here, beautiful weather, steady 25-ish every day but first work got in the way with repairs, welding and building in a new pony proof enclosure at the Ranch Sierra Rubio and now the BMW E30 water pump is shot and spraying coolant all over the place so today I start ripping the rad', etc down ready for the new pump arriving tomorrow, (I hope) and new cam belt kit while I am at it.

Bit of a shocker, literally, Had a switch box at the stables go duff due to being over 30 years old and fitted all new trips only to find that the whole of the lower part of the ranch (two tack rooms, kitchen, yard lights, electric fences etc) was powered from that too on a single 75 meter extension lead of 1.5mm cable and no safety trips!! So, estimate going in for new 4700W cable, secondary trip box with 4 circuits etc, keep me busy for a while.

Quite jealous of the progress being made on so many cars lately, being retired is a sod, less time than before.

The SS has only had the dash pods done in THREE MONTHS, must get that reminded, as soon as I can get there.

Don't be jealous - you're the one backing in 25 degree heat

Finally completed the dash once and for all in black alcantara suede cloth , yes it WILL stay this way.

Just need to get the rest of the interior to match before starting on the outside, (overhead, A posts and door cards),so then, passengers floor, seat and both side windows in, shut the doors and forget the inside.

Mock-up of doors with actual materials.

Spent a few hours in the 'shed' despite the fact I have to take the head off of the BMW, again.

Got the overhead section recovered and a couple of little things sorted like making brackets to hold the dash bottoms on as the heat makes the part to fall off and then anther of which was making the brake bias cable and knob. the main part was the top end which had to hold the outer cable and provide fixing for the dash hole so I drilled centre 3mm in a M10x40 allen bolt and cut the head off then and then drilled 7mmx25mm into the plain part for the outer cable which I glued in, put a plain nut hard down the thread and an 'acorn' nut for the outside. A nice alloy knob fitted onto the cut down speedo end of the inner cable and the whole lot assembled looks quite good, 'just' need to cut to the right length and make the dash part between the centre and the steering to take it. Saved me 45 quid too.

    Piccies to follow.
