Hi Jim - I used UPOL Plastx No.4 coarse texture coat on my dashboard and interior panels. There is a definite technique to applying it, you have to be far enough away from the subject that the paint part-cures before it hits. Warm weather helps. Because the surface finish can be quite rough when fully cured I went over the texture with wet and dry sandpaper (used wet) and then finished with UPOL satin black.

Plastx No.4 fine texture works well on smaller items, like the steering column shroud.

Or you could apply a more traditional fabric headlining?

Good luck with whatever you choose to do.

    Good to hear well done.
Did you discover what happened WRT the bonnet flip? i.e. what failed?
What have you done to prevent reoccurrence?

So looks like you've gone a couple of shades lighter in colour?

Itís all been covered in Complete Kit Car - you need to get your subscription sorted!

They were relatively crude cheap cam key locks that spin a lock arm into a slot on the fibreglass. Looks like one tumbler failed and allowed the lock to twist. With one open the air pressure forced the bonnet up and the other gave way.

The panel no longer hinges - it is fully removable with 4 aero locks holding in place.

yes - Nardo grey. Think it contrasts better to the interior and black details
