Thread: Jim and Sarah's Nova - The third project !

  1. #1

Nem the Nova - Jim's latest Nova

    Hi all,

Yep - if you have seen the ebay update I was the 'lucky buyer' of the Mk1 white one in Broadstairs.

Couldn't let it go, even though part way through a buggy build at the moment, and have 2 buggys, one golf and a van to look after!

No immediate plans so don't expect a quick build - realistically not going to start till next year at least.

Bought it Friday night, back on our drive by midday Saturday!

    A few hours later

    Chassis is a horror

Panels and tub to be stored away for now

Many ideas at the moment, but no money to do it !

Congratulations Jim, and welcome back to the fold!

That car definitely needs your attention, that is quite possibly the worst gearlever relocation I have ever seen

    Jim

Glad to see you've seen sense and got another one. Looks like a whole warehouse of TLC will be needed though. Nice gear-shift mod bet the MOT man never saw it.

    Best of luck.

Looks like a great candidate to try out the molasses approach to derusting in a big tub. Leave it in there for a few months as your in no hurry

Congrats Jim - you didn't seem to get the bonnet, boot and rear valance he mentioned as he's listed those again seperately - did you get some with what you bought? Are you going to run the Ferrari-ish side pods or keep it 'kosher'?
It's a 49 year old car and everything works, just not always at the same time.......and it's probably about to get jealous!

Photos are after I moved bits. It did come with both original side panels, bonnet, engine lid and rear bumper.

Also Mk 1 dash, but no dash pods :-( and also no louvres

Not a fan of the other side panels so chose to keep the stock set.

Will be posting my wanted list in due course,
    All the best,
