Hi Alex - yes, the two reinforcing brackets were on the list

1. Bodyshell
2 & 3. Canopy inner and outer
4. Bonnet
5. Louvre panel
6 & 7. Side sills
8. Rear window tunnel
9. Rear light panel
10. Rear undertray
11. Nosecone
12. Dashboard
13 & 14. Left and right dashpods
15 & 16. Seats
18. Engine cover
19 & 20. Reinforcing brackets L&R
21. Inner rear wheelarch moulding (I think this covers the engine surround as well)

Hmm. So that is all 21 mouldings - but the one I was reminded of in Jim's photograph is the air plenum between the front bulkhead and the spare wheel compartment. It must be a separate moulding because the cavity is hollow.

Ah - the 21 mouldings tally comes from the original '72 Hot Car article, when only one dashpod was being offered. So all mouldings are now accounted for! Thanks guys!

I see you have a Smiths pump as well - is it serviceable?

I would be very surprised if it is Lauren.

The car has sat for many years - the seats inside looked serviceable, nice black vinyl mini seats - thought I would pop them in the buggy, but although externally they looked ok the subframes and springs inside had rusted through - it was only the covers holding them together!!

Have kept the pump for now though in the shed with all the other potentially useful rusty bits - gearbox/driveshafts, front axle assembly etc etc.

Must get onto ebay soon!

I thought it was still 21 - with one dash pod and the additional moulding under the bonnet, I thought there was one more moulding than there actually was (22), so correcting my mistake takes us back to 21, doesn't it

I dunno what I mean any more...

Just to add to the body panels debate, I'm ~pretty sure my MK1 had a fibreglass battery cover as part of the kit ...
That must be the missing part No 17 ;-)

My Mk2 has one. However, it also has 2 round things, (about the size and shape of a tea mug without a bottom), that I have never found a use for
