Well done Dirk, the car looks great! As others have said, the Avante shape seems to come alive when on the move

And there's nothing wrong with plastic reservoirs in my book!

    Thanks all for the comments.
Taking the car out for the first time is a real buz warts and all I had a smile all weekend.
Reservoirs are not a problem to me although they were a problem sealing the lids to use the easy bleed, and I don't like the idea of having to take the cap off to see the level. My comment was more to do with the brake lines coming out of the master cylinders not being as sexy as Dave and Jim's very nice stainless braided hoses.

Frame head I only changed the whole thing as I had no choice, but to be honest having done it and knowing what new replacement heads are like (rubbish and need lots of work to make them fit) If I had a car with an original frame head I would try and patch it as much as possible. I think Flatlands only replace frame heads with good second hand originals, I think that says a lot.

Haha Dirk ... I bet you're still buzzing! I really appreciate your input re the frame head (and sorry for high-jacking your thread!) which all helps give me confidence I'm on the right track. As for when I'll be able to experience the buzz of driving my unfinished Nova down a quiet country lane? I dunno, but I'm looking forward to it!

    Dirk,
Excellent work mate. You really had that cheesy first drive grin.

Nice to see an Avante back on the road.
