    Nice work

Expanding foam? Did you make a mould of the outer door skin first, or is this carved from solid? Either way, very impressive!

Expanding foam yes. I used hardboard on the inside and then a 10 inch strip of very thin ally clecoed to the body it was thin enough to allow the foam to expand passed the body but tight enough to stop too many air holes, I just worked the strip up each night once the previous days had set, then used a combination of surfoam, rasp, file and sandpaper to get where I am. The photos look a lot better than it is but its a good start.

    Hi Dirk.

Don't be too hard on yourself about how it looks in the flesh. Everything has too start from somewhere. Progress is progress & its all yours.

Looks very good from here & don't forget you're making them from scratch so 10 out of 10 nice work.

I have started to apply a very thin coat of body filler

I filled the the detailing with filler and used a 28mm dowel this is slightly undersized, to get the line straight.

I have glassed up a section, Ill pull this off tomorrow and use it as a sanding block to get the correct contor

So the plan is this is a buck, to make a mould, to make a door outer, then same thing for an inner door and bond the two together as original?

Thats pretty much it, I am making it up as I go along as its not something I've done before, so I think it will take a few attempts. As I said when I got the car, if I can't make the the doors the shell is a non starter. I am happy with the progress so far the dowel worked well and my sanding block mold is looking OK Ill try and take a few more pics tomorrow.
