Its OK, I know what you mean - but those standard BL paddle door handles were only ever available in a brushed silver or chrome finish. I rather like them. Morris Marina had them too, find out where Top Gear send their squashed cars!

    Happy hunting!

I think it is two things having to clean the family cars as a kid with the chrome cleaner and my Spitfire rear bumper that I could not clean because the steel had rusted that bad that it was just a thin bit of chrome hanging onto the body. Luckily some silly woman drove into the back of the Spitfire and only gave it a tap but obviously the bumper just all colapsed, I managed to do a deal with her husband and said I would do the work if they gave me the money for a new bumper and they did, so then I went and got a second hand one what a bonus
Anyway back to the topic I was expecting you to have given me a list of mid late 90's cars that used this type of handle as you have failed it looks like Ill be going with the Disco ones

Well, I did give you a list of mid-70s cars that used them, surely that counts for something?

Disco ones are probably old BL stock with the paddles anodised black, for that "modern" look

There is a specialist supplier of Morris Marina spares (comes close to the top if you Google) - unfortunately their prices for handles are 'POA' in the listings.... Might be worth trying the Marina Owners club too - they're not as good as the Morris 1000 owners but can still be pretty helpful - especially as you're not threatening to cut up or destry one of their beloved motors......
It's a 50 year old car and everything works, just not always at the same time.......and it's probably about to get jealous!
