    Beatnik Bandit II

Not sure if this should go in beautiful or ugly. Nice bubble.

Doesn't belong in either camp, it's far from a kit car. If it do though, it would be here, amongst the beautiful people, I mean cars.

Apparently Ed Roth was behind this 1995 creation, as well as the 1961 original.

Although I don't necessarily like his customs, they were certainly "of their time", and there was always something worthy of consideration in his designs. I rate his work far more highly than George Barris.

My favourite Ed Roth creation is Captain Pepis Motorcycle and Zeppelin Repair, the craziest side-cab flatbed truck you ever did saw, but Road Agent and Mysterion were equally amazing, the former running a Corvair flat-6 mid-mounted with an inverted Corvair transmission (automatic yet!) and the latter featuring two V8 engines mounted side-by-side, with the propshafts running either side of the single driving seat, driving a live axle with two differentials!

Ed "Big Daddy" Roth, RIP (1932-2001)
