My system uses a split feed under the front pan going to the bottom of angled rads and returning out the tops joining back into one pipe again ,main feed pipes are poly household drain pipes run under the main spine and have been there over 30 years and not degraded, it’s never overheated with this system cooling a lotus and then the alfa 2L twin cam ,the cooling fans very very rarely come on ,with regard running the pipes under the car increases the cooling with heat loss from the long pipe run , probably use stainless with heat sink fins on the V6 to aid efficiency ,also worth putting small grills below headlights as heat from rads keeps the perspex covers from misting

I was always told that hot in from the top bad.

It can be done but I think studies have shown that the cooling system is more efficient when the water enters at the bottom.
I remember reading some where also that its harder to purge the air out of the system
Hi Brett - only the original LP500 prototype had overheating issues, as the twin radiators were mounted longitudinally either side of the engine bay, without the prominent scoops fitted to production cars. Countach 002 and 003 and all subsequent production cars fitted the twin radiators facing forwards with the afore-mentioned airboxes, together with louvred vents on the top of the rear fenders for hot air extraction.

Lamborghini piped the hot coolant into the bottom of the first radiator, cooled fluid out of the top, into the bottom of the second radiator and return to the engine from the top. The first radiator had a thermostatic electric fan, the second a manual one.

    Exactly as you described.
