    Hahaha Mark,
So OK, I've now got the engine fitted but I've still to ....

    • strip and paint the fan housing (probably blue) and fit the themostat & flaps
    • weld the intake manifold which had rusted away at the ends of the pre-heater tubes
    • clean and fit the carburetor
    • fit a new external oil cooler & filter
    • paint and fit the new exhaust & heat exchangers
    • etc, etc

However, I'm currently spending more than 5 mins a day on her so who knows .... it might not take me that long

Nice before and after photos, and certainly looks the part now.

I've got a better idea Steve - I have a "Friend" with a fully functional 1300cc TP engine fitted with new piston rings and running like new as well as being tarted up with chrome rocker covers and other esential go faster parts. I'm sure I could persuade him to swap it for your "Friends" Type 4 lump to save him on the cost of a rebuild and dress up kit

Sure Steve, send 'him' up here. Mind you, you know what Mrs Bluenova is like, she's not that keen on Novas so I'd have to hide it!

That makes a lot of sense Phill ... I'll let you know when Steve's 'friend' is due here so that you can let your 'friend' know where I live. I'll make sure that social distancing rules apply!

Meanwhile, back in the garage ....

A bit of stripping and painting this afternoon. Painted the heat exchangers in VHT satin black, and the fan in sky blue (simply because I had an old tin lying there and nobody will see it). I then stripped the paint from the outside of the fan housing and painted the inside of it with rust converter.

So that's me another wee bit closer to 'firing it up'

Hahaha .... cheers Dirk! I’m certainly able to spend more time on my Nova at the moment, but I’m no match for your work rate!
