Yes, just seen it .... £2.7k is pretty good bearing in mind the amount of work required to finish it, including repairing what looked like a good frame head.

I think it would be worth starting a database on the forum of the sold prices for recent and future Novas, Avantes and Eagles for insurance valuation purposes. Any thoughts?

    I bought it.

It ticked too many of my boxes ... I couldn't let it go ;-)
I have just been on the phone to the vendor to discuss.

The plan is to take it direct to Flatlands Engineering for storage,
and get them to complete the work on the chassis.

I won't say anymore until it's fully paid for & delivered.

    Update to follow next week.

A very nice starting point and I think a good price, I'm sure it has cost a lot more to get it to this point. Flatlands work has been exceptional on some of the other cars on here, so looking forward to seeing the progress.

Well done Steve, nice to see you back in the Nova family with your second car . As you know from my 2nd Nova Flatlands do exceptional work, they take real pride in everything they do, but don't forget it all comes at a price. My scooby Nova unfortunately has not progressed much since they did all my chassis work. However at least I know all the mechanicals will be good. Another thing to note is that Flatlands don't really have that much storage area, and you don't really want it sitting outside. Give Mark a call and discuss, he is a really nice guy.

UPDATE: Business concluded with the vendor and I am now the proud owner of Nova reg: TDG 371W

At first glance of the vehicle I reckon I've overpaid, perhaps a 2k pricetag would have been a more realistic price, but I put in big maximum bid (sniper protection -and there was some late smash & grab activity) without seeing the vehicle, I rolled the dice.

But that doesn't mean I'm unhappy with the purchase - Far from it.
It ticked to many boxes, it's even the right colour for what I have in mind, as I said, I couldn't let it go.

The down side is that I don't think I will use any of the spares (parts) that came with the car, the windscreen is delaminated, and a there is a fuel tank sized hole in the back that will need filling.

Having said all that, I can't get the smile of my face.

There is some paperwork with the vehicle:
The car was purchased by Robert Harper from Glasgow, as a delux kit in October 1979 and was MOTd in November 1980, with a 'new' W Reg no.
in 2007 the car was owned by Anthony in Penzance, Cornwall.
PPC magazine purchased it from Anthony I believe.

The car is in storage for now, proper pics to follow but it may be in a while...

Nice one, did they give you the rear section that they cut out above the tank? or does that need remaking?

Ah It's Ant's Old car! I know it well, though it wasn't Penzance, it was villages within 20 miles of. That one has an interesting history and had a lot of slightly daft things done to it.... The fuel tank sized hole accomodated a Vovlo tank for a while I think. I hope someone has addressed the floorpan drops being held together entirely by large pop rivets and nary a weld to be seen?
It's a 52 year old car and everything works, just not always at the same time.......and it's probably about to get jealous!
