Dirk, see Rick's thread on this that he started earlier today ....

He said "I will sell at my cost to whomever needs the glass. Windshield cost at this point is $895 plus freight, and any additions you may require (liftgate residential access, etc.). I will order the glass and invoice the buyer."

Hi Dirk, saw your other post. $895 (well, really $896 rounded up), plus freight.

So around £685 in UK pounds plus shipping and the dreaded import tax.

Pilkington standard list price as of today £716.98 plus VAT (£860) plus £25 shipping to a UK address.
    All the best,

    Jim,

I take it that that is current up to the minute and accurate price for UK Glass?

A few weeks ago was quoted GBP £815 for a Bronze tint Nova screen with obscuration band (the black bit around the edge).
That price came from Autoglass it included VAT and fitting.

I found Autoglass prices to be cheaper than going direct to Pilkington.

I feared that might be the case Jim ... but presumably your insurance will cover it?

Yes Steve, this has come up before.

All the big glass companies have arrangements and prices with Pilkington. The thing to remember is Pilkington have the buck and the ovens, so it is up to them when they choose to make the screen. Whether there is more chance of speeding production along via a third party or buying direct is the question.........

You already have windshields secured. May be you should give this a try?
