I think I will size the plate digitally and measure the space available for the stampings then go from there.

The stamps are available in a wide range of sizes so I'm confident it won't be an issue.

5mm stamps will be ideal for the sizes I have tried on the laptop.

David, does this suit what you wanted?

That looks great to me Dan! Also, the stamp sizes sound about the norm for a car that age

First ones produced at the right size.
Stamps will be here tomorrow so I can test with them stamped.

Also have some blanks already cut to size on the way!
Question, drilled in all 4 corners for rivets or just one hole each side?
Or would you prefer them undrilled so you can make them suit your individual installation?

These are looking to be £8 blank or £10 fully stamped up (including posting them out), I can also amend the design to suit your own preference if there is something different you want on there.

(David I'll make one how you want it when the new blanks arrive)

    Great work Dan!

Personally I'd prefer to drill the plate myself. As I mentioned to you I'm still not absolutely sure that I'll be able to re-use my chassis. I'm hopeful, but because of my uncertainty at this stage I'd like to order 1 fully stamped plate and also 1 blank plate. How and when would you like payment?

    Thanks, Alistair

No problem Alistair, as soon as the blanks arrive and I've made a few up I'll put a post up and let everyone know.

Hi Dan I would want to drill all 4 corners myself but being picky can you put the border around it like the ones Buggy99 had done, I think it makes it look better. If you do a google search on vin plates and look at the images the ones with the boarders just look a bit more finished.

Thanks Dan. As I found out The hard way stamping neatly isn't so easy to do, so if yours look better than mine you can stamp them. Let's see how you get on

as as mentioned by Dirk a boarder does look better, even with spaces left for rivets on all four corners. Some examples on this site.

anyway don't want to cause you too much work and hassle, but I will take 3 plates once they are all sorted
