    South African 'Nova' for Sale

Just posting this out of interest ... unless there's anyone on the Forum from South Africa?? It says it's a Sterling GT but I understood that the South African versions of the car were known as the Eagle and Scorpion.

They've done away with the hydraulic roof. Not sure why ... I used to live there and you can get some thumping thunderstorms in the evenings!

Anyway, it's R 48,500. When I was there in the early '80's that would have converted to about £24,250 ... but the exchange rate has changed considerably since then and in today's markets that converts to about £3,000.

In some countries it's impossible to get registered for the road with the canopy, due to safety regs (they say it's impossible to exit the car if it turns over). A few folks have built them here without the canopy for that reason, I don't know whether it's the same down in SA though.
    Mi amas mian Nova
