Shame it is still listed as a beetle with DVLA but not insurmountable. Interesting to see what it goes for.

I wonder is that RED9 front suspension is the one modified for the Nova (i.e. Drop removed). Mark II body is reasonable nick.
Could be a very nice project
Unfortunately way way beyond my capabilities...way way![]()
would snap it up in a heartbeat if I had the space
Current cars -
Nova
MGB GT 1974
Austin Mini 1973 (79 plate)
Triumph Stag 1976
Triumph Dolomite (in the works)
Honda CRV 2016
The bidding has started: £620. This is going to be interesting.
I think Islandman may be right about the front end,
I have seen pictures of a (Nova special) 'raised' Red9 wishbone set-up
and the bar going across the main tube (frame head) isn't straight. On this car it is.
Anyway you can take that back to be fixed.
If you look at the extra pictures (http://s347.photobucket.com/user/pda...?sort=3&page=1)
you'll see some rust under the silver paint on the rear shock support, so the chassis may have been sitting in that damp garage for a while. The floor drops look a little narrow also.
All in all though, an interesting project; I reckon those Turbovecs will come up a treat when refurbed, and with the 2 windscreens plus IRS, you are getting a lot for your money here.
Agree with David here - was my first thought when I saw the pics on facebook.
That is a stock beetle Red 9 kit - so will lower the Nova too far.
It will need modifying to suit the car and also the triangle sections either side of tunnel behind framehead need clearancing.
Here is mine ahead of fitting the body:
Certainly some good bits with this lot, but important to be aware some more modification is needed.
All the best,
Jim

I tried to convince my wife that I should enter the race, but met fierce resistance. I know she's right ... my Nova's in bits on one side of the garage, and I've got 2 catamarans on the other, one of which needs restoring too!
I hope the Nova goes to a good home and that the new owner joins the Forum .... If they aren't a member already!![]()
I can imagine that the body will come up for sale again very quickly. I bet someone buys it for the chassis to go under a Beetle.
