GE Code Type 4 Engine, convert to carburettor

I have the opportunity to buy a GE Code Type 4 Engine.
It has the VW L-Jet fuel Injection system fitted.

I need to run the engine on the bench as a test, so I am thinking about converting it to a carburettor set-up.

Does anyone have the kit to do this? Do I need a carb & manifold?
    What else is needed?
    Is it a DIY job?
    Any thoughts?

I did this with my type 4 back in the eighties - the fuel injection suddenly wouldn't and in those days it was a simple job to pull a set of carbs/manifolds/linkages etc from a scrap 411 - straight bolt on job and it all worked, but in the end I put the simple Beetle engine back in for an easy life....
It's a 52 year old car and everything works, just not always at the same time.......and it's probably about to get jealous!
