I think the only part which is Mk4 is the dash.
Most parts are probably Mk2 as they did not have nostrils .

Just to clarify what the Build manual says:

The 1302 and 1303 Beetles had IRS and Macpherson Strut front suspension.
It is the Macpherson Strut suspension that can't be used to build a Nova, the IRS set-up works well.

So it looks like the chassis in this car has had a torsion bar front end welded onto the 1303 chassis, replacing the Mac strut set-up. This is a fairly common mod for Novas and other VW kit cars,
if the welding has been done properly, you'll have no worries and nice handling car with IRS.

Think you will find that most IRS chassis with trailing arms front end started life as a swing axle rear. It is a far easier operation to install IRS on a swing than replacing the 1302/3 front with trailing arms.
