    I didn't realise they did a VW type rear engine chassis, I thought it was just the ford front engine one they did

    Front end of the chassis looks remarkably like the one that the came with the red Avante at Stones. He says it's an Alfa chassis??

    Compared the two and from what I can tell, they're identical.

    Either way, it's gone now, either sold or withdrawn.......
    It's a 50 year old car and everything works, just not always at the same time.......and it's probably about to get jealous!

    The SS was derived from the US Cimbria in 1980 which was in turn inspired by the Nova derived Stirling, although there is a question as to which actully came first, the Cimbria or the Stirling. All those were VW based and most continue to be so but in 1885 Eagle cars bought out a Ford Cortina based version (also the CJ5 inspired RV) with an Eagle made chassis with first a VW footprint, later changed to a staright ladder form.

    ...I guess that cortina was related to the delorean...
