I have made a very basic video of it.

Due to the limitations of my email provider I had to make it on 2 parts. The videos are very short so I could get under the 20mb that my email provider has limited the size of the content to be sent.
I am no member of social media so I can't post a link to it and this site has no video options as you know, however I could email the 2 videos to you or someone and then they could post it(or not).

I assume if I go to your profile there is an email address for sending the videos to you.

    Thanks Nic

can't take credit for the design or building it since all I did was transplant it.

It does work well in the car though.

Finished testing the effects of 2 latches in the system and it looks like there are no issues with it, so Its a green light to install the pull down latches.

Very nice work, quiet lovely and smooth. Looking forward to see what you do with the catches to prevent rattle when the unit disengages when closed. Great work as usual.

This is a great innovation for a Nova roof. I tried, and failed, to fit gas rams using the normal hinge mechanism; didn’t even think about using all that empty space in the side pod. Lift gate movers look and sound great in operation. Do you have any photos of the modified hinge before you installed it? It’s OK, I found it in your Roof thread.

Have you considered Maglocks to hold the canopy closed? There are 12v ones that exert 550kgs (1200lbs) of holding force at only 500mA.

That sounds like a terrific idea - failsafe too, if the engine or electrics should die, the canopy unlocks.

Seriously? Half a metric tonne of force, from only 0.5A? I will have to check those out...
only Pythagoras can save me now!
