    Hi Dave & Bushboy,

I stumbled across this tonight from 2009 (too much spare time in lockdown! ) and thought it looked remarkably like the Golf Kart? .... Based in Kent, the dashboard, the Porsche dials, the steering wheel, and red piping on the seats?

Hope all's well with both of you

I remember that, I also recall he planned to sell it and tried to buy it myself when I had some funds, but as you can see, it never came to pass, Dave's got a good project there and I know Bushboy's going to do it good when he has the chance

    well spotted

Spot on guys, yes the very same Car....I had put ads in Various VW forums to say i was looking for a Nova and he seen my ad, stuck my number in his phone and thought if I ever sell there is a potential buyer, He bought it for his wife , stripped it down do quite a few good mechanical upgrades then never got round to fully rebuilding her, Bushboy tells me yes indeed mechanically (excluding engine) it was very sound and well done, unfortunately electrical wise it wasn't so good, so the bushwacker has been busy on electrics, unfortunately as a key worker he is run off his feet (if not he would have been banished to the garage no doubt ;o)
Unfortunately it has turned out a bigger Job than expected and not just a simple rebuild, Bushboy has saved her as If I had got her up to Glasgow she would probably be sitting untouched as I dont have a clue and there are no real kit car clubs based up here, well not VW rear engine kit clubs.
    cheers
    Dave

I am unfortunate in this strange time we find ourselves in as I am in an essential industry & a key worker in that industry to boot. So I have not had the advantage of having 3 to 6 weeks of leave where you have to stay home, with the added advantage of owning a shed full of toys to play with.

So progress on the GolfKart has been at the snail pace it started with about 15 months ago. The last installment of time has resulted in the digital dash being mounted & 98% of the wiring for it finished. Just need to perfect the speed pick up for the speedo, calibrate the fuel gauge & start the engine to confirm the tacho functions correctly.
I have a video clip of the dash & the blinky LED's but having difficulty up loading it on this slow, slow laptop. I will post the video once it has been processed and post a link.

I need to gain momentum on this project as another project has landed on my door step today.
