It was a day like any other that you get here in the UK, overcast & wet!

The trailer was made ready & I said farewell to the Eureka. I was hoping that it would not get jealous.


We arrived at the Kent Science Park & were signed in with security, given a badge and off we went to get the NOVA. The soon to be EX owner is a VW nut & escorted us in a typeIII squareback.

With no time to enjoy the lovely Kent rain we got too & started to load the Nova. Backwards of course!


After about 3 pulls with the come-a-long we finally had the Nova where we wanted it, on the trailer



Next task was to tie it & the loose body parts down. You can now see the EX owner & his Squareback in the back ground

Note to self, next time DO NOT take a convertible to collect a car in pieces, they wont fit inside!


Uneventful, but wet trip home, unloaded the Nova, consoled the Eureka (told her they can play together one day) and hid the Nova in the shed


Wet the baby's head with a brew or three and threw the closest thing to a scottish flag on her that I could find!!!


Then I started to compile a list and gave up after 1 A4 page.

Spent some more time sizing up the task ahead.
What to do with a pitted chrome filler cap. Re-chrome is mega cost so we are open to suggestions. Hydro dipping? Can you Chrome Hydro Dip? Maybe carbon Fiber hydro dip.!

Paint work!!! I'm sure it will buff out

This is a nostril on the bonnet. It is Black Gelcoat that has been painted black to hide the crazing but poorly prepped.

Trail fit of the new AIR LIFT system. Access into the cabin is fantastic.


Found this paper clipping under the drivers seat. Been waiting to get on the road for quite some time!!


Despite wiring the car, the EX owner did confess that wiring was not his thing, and you can see that by the wires in drivers foot well


You wont get HOT feet driving this baby

Why??? don't think this will be staying put


First point of call will be to sort the wiring & find a better place for the fuse box & hide the extra wires running inside the cabin.

On the PLUS side the chassis is perfect, new Neapolian hat, floor drops plus a box section frame running around the floor pan perimeter.

Most of the jobs on the list start with FIT. Fit this fit that. Not a lot of fixing, other than the engine oil leak.

The Fuse box


The indicators b l i n k e d very..................................very........ .......................very....................... slowly. Fixed that by swapping the hazard relay with the blinker relay!!!!! One job done

Oh no sorry, that is the engine with one of those carby thingys on it.

Some lights work

No speedo cable but I may actually run the speedo via a small stepper motor controlled by an arduino with a magnet pickup

Yes they are my feet & yes the wiring definitely needs to be sorted out

I think I have an original fuel filler cap somewhere that I'm not going to use if you want that.

Nice update! Great that the chassis is solid.

If you need a replacement dash mount, this one will be available early next year, free.
Maybe you can make one good one from the two of them?

Got a nice set of Alloys with good tyres off eBay @ a cracking price Phil...yea it needs a bit of TLC and tinkering here n there but she is in good hands...guy that had here said there was a problem with hazards... Bushboy had it fixed in 2 mins....😁
