Same Car - Same Location - 35 years on

Well not strictly the same car but the same model.

One of my favourite pictures of the Nova I built back in 1984 was taken in South Queensferry near Hopetoun House on the shore of the river Forth. In the background you can see the Forth Rail Bridge and the Road bridge which is the reason this became my favourite picture of the car.

When I was building my latest car I made a promise to myself to re-create the scene once the car was roadworthy.

A few evenings ago - I, along with my brother in law Ross (who took the original photograph in 1984) headed back to the location and spent the evening trying to recreate the scene.

A few things have changed - there's now another bridge (The Queensferry Crossing) in the background and the trees and bushes have grown a bit since then.

    Here's the result

Excellent! Bet you never imagined 35 years ago that you'd be back there with your Nova.

So looking ahead, you'll need to plan for the time when you get the blue Nova body that's lying next to your house onto a chassis and road legal

    Very nice.
he should have tilted the camera and and shot in a lower resolution for a more authentic look. There are a lot of things I wish I could replicate from 35 years ago

Fantastic to see photos of your Nova 'out and about' Phill .... however, I think she'd look that much better if she had St Andrews as a backdrop! You've got an open invitation!
