    Looks like a neat solution.

After a few prototypes this is what I ended up with.

The area where its to be mounted will be cut out and a fiberglass insert will be made with all mounting points built into it and that will be installed in the cutout opening.

Still trying to decide if I should use gas struts to hold the hood/bonnet open or just use a rod

A nice bit of engineering, My engine lid just uses a rod, but the bonnet lid uses friction hinges which obviously stay open themselves but do not open themselves. I did try using gas rams, but the fiberglass on the Avante is less substantial than the Nova and pushed the outer edges up when closed.

    Thanks

Just wanted something that looked like some thought was put into it and not something that looked like it was just all tossed together with bits and pieces.

Since its getting cooler outside around here I'm starting to get to my "Honey Do" list so this may take longer than expected to finish.
