The PLA filament used is biodegradeable which some would say is a good thing. The main issue is it absorbs moisture over time but even so should last up to 10 years. UV is not an issue though may cause fading. The sign shown in the example has been up for three years now and I have signs outside my unit made from PLA that are still in good condition after five years.

Try Onshape.com I use it pretty extensively and it's been great. You dont need a powerful GPU, it's all browser based and really good and 100% free as long as you don't mind your designs being made available by the site. All of what I do isn't top secret, or even bottom secret.
    Thanks,

    Nic.

Sure thing! I'd say if you have questions, give me a call.... but perhaps a Zoom or something similar to share screens?
    Thanks,

    Nic.

    Even ABS filament?
