    Hi Mark,
Yes the link works ... and that Nova was sold a couple of times about a year or 2 ago. Looks like they’ve not done much at all with it. Hope it goes to a good home ... maybe in Wales?

From the sound of it they have cut out the roof for a targa top but not yet made a section that fits in. Comes with a good windscreen and sounds a good project for the money.

I reckon that roof will need some strengthening otherwise the screen will collapse into the car. There simply isn't enough strength in the screens existing side pillars to take the wind load generated when the car is moving. I would add a T piece to reconnect the top of the screen to the rear of the canopy to restore some rigidity. When the Elam's did a Targa top for the Nova they added strength back by placing support struts halfway along the side screens to the top of the windscreen on each side

Yeah it looks very weak and would definitely need a mid brace or b pillar. I have always fancied the idea of a targa top but never been sure of the best way of bracing to look good and allow for storage of the top. Side b pillars could allow for removable side openers too.

Just been checking my notes of sold prices ... this Nova was bought from a deceased estate (for a song!) and then with little or no work being done was sold on ebay on 25 Sept 2020 for £1950. It was then advertised on ebay in Feb 2021 for £2250, but I don't know whether it sold or not. Now it's being advertised on facebook for £2500 .... but the canopy has been weakened in an attempt to make it into a targa top.

However, as we know Novas are now very rare and if the right buyer sees this and is capable of producing a quality finish, who knows?

If Mrs Bluenova would let me have another Nova (especially when it's the same colour as mine!) I'd make this guy an offer!

That would actually work, a car with a weak targa top (looks cool) that would only go anywhere in a covered trailer

.... and Joseph in Sheffield who bought Mark's Gulf Nova (but now seems to have specialised in classic Minis) currently has the perfect trailer for sale!

Wow I love that detailed info, you should have your own thread that no one can comment on just listing sold cars, condition and photos it would be a great reference.

Yes, thanks for the reminder. The picture of the car from one of the earlier sellers driveway shows the roof before they hacked it. The plus point here is that they have got the V5 sorted in their name, would be worth asking for a scan of that, and they have kept the car in the dry since. The things these cars have to go through before they find true love in the perfect owner.
