    The advantage of having the border applied at the factory is that the paint is ceramic based and is fused onto the glass during the firing process. However, this band does not sit between the outer glass and plastic interlayer as I first thought, so will not conceal delamination if it should occur. What it will do is provide a really good base for the adhesive layer to bond to, so there is no danger of the screen parting company with the black banding

    I think you can still buy tinting spray which might do for a top tint?
