What is the length of the Nova bodyshell?

    Hi All,

What is the length of the Nova bodyshell?

The context is that I am looking to rent a Garage and I need to be sure the car will fit :-)

    Hi Steve,

Just been out to the freezing garage ... my Nova’s about 4.5m x 1.7m, but remember to add a reasonable amount of space all round so that you don’t get that ‘rat look’ body scratched!

The 4.5m includes the exhaust pipes ... it’s about 4.35m without.

I know I’m p*ssing in the wind, but having seen the quality of your chassis in your video the other day, if it was my Nova ... well, you know what I think ...

Hope you find decent storage soon

    Alistair

Simple, the biggest you can afford. never enough space.

I rented a garage temporarily for my first Nova after my parents moved house......well temporarily ended up being 14 years! I could have bought at least 4 garages with the same amount I paid in rental in that time.

Subsequently I bought 3 garages to store stuff, so my advice is if you have the cash, buy don't rent, after all its an appreciating asset that can be sold later

Couldn't agree more. Unfortunately here every sqr mtr is valuable and garages and storage are not built in favour of apartments. In the time I have had my 'shed' it has cost me 14.000€ and the one in San Pedro before that 200€ a month so another 4.000€ plus storage in Malaga caravan parking where the damage was done another 50€ a month so another 1.200€, so 19,200€ (or 16.550 GBP at today's rate. about twice what the car is worth finished.

What about a storage container the sort of thing that goes on the back of a lorry might be a cheaper short term solution?

Good idea, not as wide at 8ft as one thinks once a car is in one and only just about long enough with a half unit, a full unit cost from 2,500 to 4,500 depending on size, seller and condition.

    For instance

    On Gumtree from 1450.

I previously just had a saved search on sites like Zoopla. Often the descriptions are bad and don't say garage, so I simply have search for properties below a certain value, that does the trick to find teh garages. Then I would get notifications by email when garages came up for sale in the radius area I was looking to buy. You can never find one exactly when (or where) you want one, so set up a search with notifications and be patient.

When one comes up you will need to be ready to buy. Even if you don't hold it forever you will normally be able to sell and get your money back later, or simply rent it out once you are done with it

I don't remember where you are based exactly, but here are some

Prices vary on condition and location etc..
